... A new ground show event to be launched as part of the
2006 REDHILL AIRSHOW entertainment but will be held as a separate event each year as well!
This involves exhibitors displaying aviation wrecks and relics, in covered and outside space, that will provide interest to enthusiasts and the public alike... The point being to have large displayable items and aircraft that are beyond economic airworthiness but have a story to be told and a history of interest.
The idea will, hopefully, show items that the ravages of time have added to their interest and uniqueness.
The Aeroplane Monthly article on the RAF museum's 'reserve' collection put it neatly by saying that ''although derelict and engineless, it's so much more interesting to my excited eye than a restored exhibit''!!
So, whilst it seems almost anything can be turned into an flying aeroplane, it can be just as much fun to see things as an archaeological timewatch!
We will be pleased to hear from any potential exhibitors who can email details of their treasures through our 'Contact Us' page.
Items to buy, sell and swap will be welcome
